Competition for the research of young scientists

The competition for young scientists for conducting research in the following areas is announced, as a part of the scholarship YuNESKO-Keizo Obuchi-2015:
- The environment (water and water resources investigation);
- Intercultural dialogue;
- Information and communication technologies;
- Peaceful conflict resolution.

The Japanese Government will give 20 scholarships ranging in size from 6 to 10 thousand USA dollars under this program in 2015.
The deadline for applications to the Secretariat of UNESCO is December 26, 2014.
Participants must meet the following criteria:
1. Applicants must have a degree and conduct scientific research on one of the above areas.
2. Applicants must return to their country and to continue research.
3. Applicants must not be older than 40 years (those who was born before 1 January 1975).
4. The selected participant must conduct research under the guidance of the host country. Confirmation of acceptance from the supervisor is imperative clause.
5. Priorities are given to: women researchers; candidates from developing countries.
6. Applicants must possess a high level of foreign language of country, which will conduct research.
Required documents
- A completed application form. Two photographs (obligatory) must be attached to the form.
- A certified copy of the diploma (and its annexes).
- A letter of recommendation.
- Letter of invitation from the host university.
- Certificate, which is assured the knowledge of a foreign language (in the form of UNESCO).
- The detailed description of the research on 2 pages (English or French).
